解放战争时期，国民党反动派撕毁了停战协议，大举进攻解放区。解放军某部的野战医疗队女队长庄毅，奉命护送伤员们转移。伤员们群情激愤，纷纷要求归队杀敌。庄毅说服了要求归队的朱连长，率领着同志们转移。途中，遇到了敌人飞机的轰炸，庄毅奋不顾身地抢救伤员，自己因此负伤。她在身体尚未恢复健康的情况下，带伤给伤员做手术，抢救了伤员的生命，自己却累倒在手术台前，使伤员们深受感动。。Dao returns home and finds her fiance in bed with another woman. She shoots them dead on the spot. She is sentenced to 10 years in prison. She gets out eventually and stays with a friend who runs an escort service and learns that women are even caged in the outside world.。
