中國四川藏區一個叫熊托的小村子，住著一位人們口耳相傳的開水喇嘛。每一天都有無數的人們，從各大藏區跋山而來，跪在他的座前，為了尋求自己生命的答案...他們問著：死去的親人哪去了？疼痛的原因是什麼.....此時，爐灶上的水煮開了，屋外等待的信眾一個個脫下上衣，他們即將得到開水喇嘛的獨到「答案」。。Framing StoryDr Martin (Robert Powell) arrives at a secluded asylum "for the incurably insane" to be interviewed for a job by the wheelchair-using, authoritarian Dr Lionel Rutherford (Patrick Magee). Rutherford explains that he owes his current incapacitation to an attack by an inmate. Rutherford reveals his unorthodox plan to determine Martin's suitability for the post of head...。
