Subjects of Desire is a thought provoking film that examines the cultural shift in beauty standards towards embracing (or appropriating) Black aesthetics and features, deconstructing what we understand about race and the power behind beauty.。Zoé and Volta set off from their isolated home village to attend university in Pristina. In the midst of social and political unrest, the two women discover a country in turmoil, searching for its identity on the brink of independence.。
