本作讲述了日籍解放军战士砂原惠的传奇人生，展现了日籍解放军这一鲜为人知的特殊群体的真实历史。砂原惠，1933年出生于日本九州地区，幼年跟随父母来到中国东北。日本战败投降后，因无法返回日本，流落在辽宁一户地主家放牛。1948年，砂原惠以“张荣清”之名参加解放军，从此经历了辽沈、平津战役，投入到无产阶级革命事业中。。《战将周希汉》选取了抗日战争史上最著名的“百团大战”中，周希汉战将与陈赓大将率领八路军129师386旅在太岳·阳城救驾羊儿岭和送炮团的传奇历史，讴歌周希汉战将足智多谋、骁勇善战的勋功伟绩； 讲述了周希汉和妻子周璇相遇的感人故事以及痛失双女的国仇家恨，展现了“傲骨铁汉”的柔情一面。。A film director gathers his favorite actresses, those he worked with and those he loved.
